Wii Launch Details

The much-anticipated Nintendo Wii will launch on November 19 in North and South America, but on December 2 in Japan. It will come packaged with a game, Wii Sports and the Opera Web Browser, and will sell for US$250. It is also believed that the Wii will allow users to display their digital photos through the console. Not only that, but there will be regularly updated news and weather channels too.

Each Wii game will sell for US$50, which is US$10 less costly than standard Xbox 360 games. 25 titles will be available this year. The Virtual Console download service, which allows users to download classic games, will have about 30 titles at launch, and each game will retail between US$5 to US$10. Nintendo also plans to ship 4 million Wii units worldwide by the end of this year.
