Game Review 2: Pariah

In this game, you play as Jack Mason, a doctor. You need to locate Karina, the subject of Jack's lastest prisoner relocation assignment. Never mind about Pariah's storyline. It's too shallow and I don't know what is it about. Anyway, you start your mission in a place that is surrounded by burning rubble. As you progress through the missions, you get more powerful weapons like the plasma gun and the rokect launcher, which is the norm in most FPS games. The thing special about Pariah is that you get to upgrade your weapons using Weapon Energy Cores, which you will collect here and there along your missions. If you are looking forward to a big arsenal of weapons to chose from, you will be let down. There are only 7 weapons, excluding the healing tool. Looking to shoot down some fierce monsters? Not in this game, because the enemies are mostly soldiers (there are 3 types, though). Hoping to ride on some vehicles? Yes, there are 4 of them to chose from, so fear not. Finally, there is the multiplayer. There is a map editor in Pariah, where you can create your own map to play in. There is the only thing to cheer about because the multiplayer only features three map types: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Siege (working in teams to destroy/defend an objective) No variety. very normal.

Overall score: 7.1/10
Platform available: PC and Xbox
Good points: Weapons can be upgraded, Map editor
Bad points: No variety in type of enemies and weapons, shallow storyline
